SINTOK, 15 April 2025: The Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Global Buddies Club (GBC) successfully organised an engaging and insightful event called, “Campus Tour at UUM”. A total of 26 participants took part in the tour, comprising 10 inbound mobility students for semester A242 and 16 GBC committee members, all working together to create a warm and inclusive introduction to UUM.
The main objective of the program was to offer mobility students a first-hand experience of UUM’s campus life, learning culture, and the various student facilities available at UUM. The guided tour featured key locations such as the academic buildings, the Sultanah Bahiyah Library, student service centers, recreational spaces, and iconic campus landmarks. Throughout the tour, GBC members provided useful insights, shared personal tips, and offered guidance to help the mobility students adapt more easily to their new academic environment.
Beyond orientation, the tour created an opportunity for meaningful cultural exchange and interaction. Mobility students and local GBC members engaged in open conversations, asked questions, and shared personal stories about their backgrounds and experiences. These casual yet impactful interactions fostered a spirit of inclusion, mutual respect, and cross-cultural understanding – values that are at the heart of the GBC’s mission.
The dedication and enthusiasm of the 16 GBC members were instrumental in ensuring the event’s success. Their active participation made the experience not only informative but also enjoyable, helping the mobility students feel welcomed and supported from the very start.
More than just a campus tour, the event marked the beginning of new friendships and memorable experiences. Overall, the “Campus Tour at UUM” was a resounding success, highlighting the significance of cultural exchange, global citizenship, and building a supportive environment for international students.
