PUTRAJAYA – The Chief Executive Officer of the Social Security Organisation Group (PERKESO), Dato’ Sri Dr Mohammed Azman Dato’ Aziz Mohammed, has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 AACSB Influential Leaders Award.

This prestigious accolade, conferred by AACSB International, was presented by UUM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan during the 2023 Social Security Management Conference held at the Dorsett Hotel Putrajaya, Selangor.

Dato’ Sri Dr Mohammed Azman is the second individual to receive this honour among UUM alumni, following the esteemed Yang Mulia Raja Azura Raja Mahayuddin, CEO of Yayasan Peneraju, who received the recognition in 2019.

“UUM takes great pride in the remarkable achievements of Dato’ Sri Dr Mohammed Azman, who not only holds the esteemed status of being an alumnus of our university but also serves as an adjunct professor at the School of Business Management. Notably, he has been selected as one of the 25 business school graduates recognised by AACSB International,” he said.

According to him, the influential leaders selected by AACSB indicate that achieving success in business is synonymous with achieving success for society as a whole.

May this prestigious award serve as a testament to acknowledging the university and SOCSO while also fostering positive influence within the community. It is particularly important to address the challenges faced by workplace accident victims, as well as the perspectives of employers, employees and top management at SOCSO.

During the speech at the opening of the conference organised by the Centre of Excellence for Social Security Management, UUM School of Business Studies (SBM), in collaboration with SOCSO, the Vice-Chancellor expressed pride in the organisation for addressing relevant issues and challenges that align with the needs of society and industry.

“I hope that the annual conference, as outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UUM and SOCSO for the next five years, will continue to serve as a platform for addressing various related issues, strategies and challenges. It is important to involve all stakeholders,” he said.|

May the conference participants also have the opportunity to engage in discussion and share opinions and experiences regarding the direction of social management. They should also collaborate on outlining proactive and continuous steps towards enhancing social management.

“Changes such as the insistence of globalisation, active regional cooperation and rapid technological development along with unpredictable information technology (ICT), make it imperative for organisational management to develop their human resources with the necessary competencies and skills. This is crucial to ensuring that they can continue to provide relevant and sustainable services in a competitive market.

Finally, he expressed hope that this conference will effectively convey current information and efficiently address the majority of the issues and challenges.
