UUM and Boeing Composite Malaysia Strengthen Smart Collaboration
SINTOK, 13 April 2026: Building on a series of strategic discussions, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Boeing Composite Malaysia (BCM) convened an official meeting on 9 April, bringing together the management team of both organisations to advance prospective areas of collaboration.

The BCM delegation was led by its Managing Director, Mr Faisal Sraieldin, accompanied by Ms Rashidah Othman, Dr Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff, Mr Noor Hisyam Ahmad, Mr Afrul Nizam Osman, and Mr Zainal Shukri Dr Abd Aziz. The delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Meeting Room.
In his remarks, Prof Dr Ahmad Martadha described the engagement as an important milestone in advancing a smart and strategic collaboration between academia and the aviation industry.
He noted that the collaboration reflects UUM’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with leading global industry players such as Boeing.
“We are confident that this synergy will open up significant opportunities for talent development, high-impact research, and innovations that are aligned with industry needs,” he said.
During the meeting, several potential areas of collaboration were identified, including the implementation of training programmes, project development initiatives, joint research, as well as the organisation of collaborative programmes and events.
Meanwhile, Mr Faisal Sraieldin said that the collaboration with UUM provides an opportunity for BCM to engage with local talent while supporting the development of an innovation ecosystem.

“We see great potential in this collaboration, particularly in the areas of technology advancement, research development, and human capital growth.
“This collaboration is expected to strengthen ties between academia and industry, while contributing to talent development, technological innovation, and enhanced competitiveness within the national aviation and technology sectors,” he said.
Also present at the meeting were the Dean of the School of Computing, Prof Ts Dr Osman Ghazali, together with Dr Fazli Azzali and Assoc Prof Noraziah Che Pa, while the School of Technology Management and Logistics was represented by its Dean, Assoc Prof Ts Dr. Mohd Kamarul Irwan Abdul Rahim, along with Dr. Syairah Aimi Shahron.
Also in attendance was the Director of the University-Industry Collaboration Centre, Prof Dr Chandrakantan Subramaniam.
