SINTOK – The Maybank Inasis emerged as the champion of the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Vice-Chancellor’s Football Cup Tournament which concluded yesterday evening.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan presented the trophy and prizes to the UUM Maybank Inasis team. The team achieved victory after successfully defeating TM Inasis at the university’s Sports Complex Stadium.
During this final football match, the penalty kick was required as both teams, Maybank Inasis and TM Inasis ended the game with a 1-1 draw.
Ultimately, Maybank Inasis emerged victorious, after securing a 4-2 victory over TM Inasis.
The football tournament, which took place from 1 June 2023 to 15 July 2023, was organised by the UUM Sports Centre. Additionally, netball and bowling competitions were also included as part of the event.
The game of netball was won by MAS Inasis, the runner-up was YAB Inasis and both TNB and Proton Inasis tied for third place.
In the men’s team tenpin bowling tournament, YAB Inasis emerged victorious, followed by MISC Inasis in second place and TNB Inasis in third.
Meanwhile, TNB Inasis emerged as the winner of the female tenpin bowling category, YAB Inasis came in second and Bank Muamalat Inasis took third place.
Also present at the event were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr Ahmad Marthada Mohamed, Director of the UUM Sports Centre, Dr Nasiruddin Haron, President of UUM Student Representative Council (UUM SRC), Mr. Muhammad Izuan Faiz Abdul Rahman, university officials and students.
