SINTOK – A total of 6,694 graduates were conferred their respective degrees during the 35th. Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Convocation which took place at Mu’adzam Shah Hall, UUM Sintok this morning.
Of the total number, 5,743 graduates are undergraduate graduates, while 951 graduates are postgraduate graduates.

The Sultan of Kedah, His Royal Highness (HRH) Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, officiated the first session of the UUM Convocation Ceremony. During the ceremony, HRH presented degrees to a total of 82 graduates including 35 undergraduate graduates who were awarded academic excellence awards.
During this graduation ceremony, six bachelor graduates were awarded dual degrees in the Bachelor of International Business Management and Bachelor of Business Administration (Logistics and Transportation) programmes.

HRH who also serves as the Chancellor of UUM also presented degrees to two Doctor of Management graduates, 22 Doctor of Business Administration graduates, nine Master of Business Management graduates, three Master of Science in Multimedia Journalism graduates, three Master of Taxation graduates and one Master of Science in Risk Management graduate.
The convocation ceremony, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrated the graduation of the class of 2022. During this event, an 86-year-old retiree named Mohd Tahir Ahmad was awarded a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree by the Tuanku Sultan of Kedah.
