KUALA LUMPUR – CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd. provides a valuable opportunity for students from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to undergo practical training and gain hands-on experience with the investment platform.
This initiative aims to equip students with essential skills in stock investment and finance.
Hence, UUM, through its School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB) and CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to realise this objective.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan signed the MoU on behalf of UUM, and CGS-CIMB Securities was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mdm. Azizah Mohd Yatim.
Earlier in his speech, the Vice-Chancellor expressed hope regarding the potential collaboration between the two parties through the establishment of this MoU, with the shared objective of providing assistance to students at UUM.
“This collaboration between CGS-CIMB Securities and UUM SEFB can certainly open a new page, not only in enhancing students’ exposure to financial literacy but also in providing valuable opportunities for practical training and future employment on campus.

“I also extend an invitation to CGS-CIMB Securities, along with our academic staff and students, to gather for the purpose of enhancing knowledge and exchanging valuable experience,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mdm. Azizah Mohd Yatim expressed her hope that with the signing of the MoU, the partnership between our organisation and UUM will strengthen, thereby bringing greater prominence to the financial sector in our country.
“We are confident and believe that this partnership will not only facilitate and provide opportunities for UUM students but also serve as a means to introduce the concept of financial literacy to the campus residents and the surrounding community,” he said.

Also present at the event were the Dean of SEFB, Assoc. Prof. Dr Bakti Hasan Basri and UUM SEFB Senior Lecturer, Mr. Afiruddin Tapa.
