SINTOK: The heirs of the late Nurul Syawanie Saidin, who died of cancer, have received a donation of MYR24,000 through the MKSK UUM-Takaful Ikhlas Death Charity Scheme.

The handing over of the MKSK UUM Takaful Scheme check replica was presented by the Deputy Registrar, Azahari Azmi, to Mohamad Padli Abu Hasan the husband of the late Nurul Syazwanie at the Registrar’s Department Meeting Room recently.

Nurul Syawanie was a General Assistant at the University Health Center when she was diagnosed with lymphoma before she died in July last year.

She was a contributor to the MKSK UUM-Takaful Ikhlas Death Charity Scheme since 2020.

Also present at the handover session was MKSK UUM Takaful Scheme Coordinator, Lukman Moidin.

The MKSK Group Takaful Scheme was first introduced at UUM in 2018 with the aim of safeguarding the welfare of staff, family members and heirs by providing protection to heirs if contributors are struck by illness, misfortune, and death.

To date, a total of 1,177 UUM staff and family members have participated in the scheme, with a total of MYR97,320 in benefit claims that have been received since 2020.
