Kedah Royal Tour to be held next year

ALOR SETAR: The Raja Muda of Kedah, the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), His Highness Tengku Sarafuddin Badlishah ibni Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin expressed his gratitude for the proactive initiative of the university to organise the Kedah Royal Tour programme.

The university’s intention was expressed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah when he gained audience with His Highness at Wisma Darulaman yesterday.

During the meeting, Haim Hilman revealed that the programme had received the blessings of the Sultan of Kedah, the Chancellor of UUM, His Royal Highness Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah during a virtual audience held with His Highness.

Tengku Sarafuddin Badlishah (centre) expressed his gratitude for the proactive initiative of the UUM to organise the Kedah Royal Tour programme.

The Pro-Chancellor was also presented more information about the programme that will further strengthen bilateral relations between the palace and citizens  and suggested for it to be held between February and March 2023.

In addition, Haim Hilman also apprised to the Pro-Chancellor the university’s developments in regard to the university’s convocation events, the 34th Convocation Ceremony in 2022 as well as the 35th and 36th Convocation Ceremonies to be held in 2023. He further explained that His Highness the Chancellor had given his consent to the dates of the upcoming ceremonies.

The Pro-Chancellor was also notified of the recent achievements of the university, such as the escalation in the world and Asian university rankings, its denizens’ achievements as well as the roadmap for UUM established under Gagasan Gemilang Akademia dan Admin Holistik (GAGAH) @ Bersama Menjulang Namamu UUM. Also discussed were the Vice-Chancellor’s work trips to Australia and Indonesia and collaborations involving the university.
