Malaysia Stock Exchange Closing Ceremony: Super Circle English & Investment Programme

Sintok – UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Russayani Ismail attended the closing ceremony of Bursa Malaysia: Super Circle English & Investment which was jointly organised by the School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB) and Bursa Malaysia at the EDC-UUM Hotel last night.

Earlier in her speech, Prof. Dr Russayani expressed hope that the collaboration with Bursa Malaysia could enhance the English language proficiency among the students of this university.

She said, programmes such as this are beneficial not only for the students, as they help improve investment knowledge among students, but also for fostering communication among them.

“With the development of economic globalisation, the English language has become increasingly prominent in the world of business and finance,”.

Therefore, students should enhance their additional skills in mastering the English language in preparation for entering the workforce in the future.

The school always strives to fostering collaboration with any organisation to ensure that the students of this university can reap the benefits.

“We at UUM are grateful to Bursa Malaysia for their continuous cooperation in organising programmes for students on our campus,” she continued.

In the meantime, during his speech, the Director, Group Human Capital, Bursa Malaysia, Mr. Azman Khalid expressed his pride in collaborating with UUM which has been recognised as the 95th best university in the world under the age of 50 by the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2023, thus placing UUM as the number one best public university in Malaysia according to the ranking.

May this organised programme bring benefits all parties involved.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr Russayani and Mr. Azman Khalid also presented prizes to the winners of the competition.

Also present were the CAS Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Osman Ghazali; Senior Vice President, Education & Investor Development, Bursa Malaysia, Mdm. A.A. Deepa; Dean of SEFB, Assoc. Prof. Dr Bakti Hasan Basri and Bursa Malaysia Programme Chairman, Dr Norzalina Ahmad.
