OYAGSB graduates set a new academic standard

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 93 graduates from the year 2023 were feted at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) Graduation Hi-Tea (Class of 2023), which was successfully held in conjunction with the 36th UUM Convocation.

OYAGSB and all its graduands were privileged to have Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International Affairs), Prof. Dr. Shahimi Mohtar representing the Vice-Chancellor, in attendance to honour the occasion.

On this momentous occasion, Prof. Dr. Shahimi extended his heartfelt congratulations to all of the graduands who have successfully fulfilled the demanding requirements of postgraduate study at OYAGSB.

“On this auspicious occasion, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to  all of you who selected OYAGSB as your preferred institution for pursuing higher education. Furthermore, I would like to congratulate each and every one of you for your remarkable accomplishments.

“It is my sincere desire that all of you will remain affiliated with UUM and contribute towards advancing the UUM brand. This is especially crucial in fulfilling OYAGSB’s aspirations to establish itself as Malaysia’s leading business school on a global scale,” said him.

During the event, a total of 37 graduands who had successfully completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme were presented with their CMI Level 7 Certificate. Two Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students have been acknowledged as recipients of the Graduate on Time (GOT) distinction. These students have successfully fulfilled the requirements of their programme within a period of 48 months or less and have been awarded the corresponding GOT certificates. In addition, OYAGSB also acknowledges and celebrates the Most Outstanding Academic Achievement for four students who have successfully completed their studies with a CGPA of 4.00.

OYAGSB also extended an invitation to the CEO of KDEB Waste Management, Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir and Group Chief Human Capital Officer of SME Bank, Mdm. Shuhaibahtulaslamiah Hurmuzan. Both individuals graciously shared positive feedback on the performance of their staff members who had successfully completed the MBA programme.

Also present at the event were Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Dr. Hassan Abu Bakar; deputy deans, management team, resident faculty and OYAGSB officers. – Rozita Ramli
