PUTRAJAYA: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), through UUM Corporate Communication (UCC), takes the lead in providing a digital media platform to promote and provide information to the university and the general public.
This is due to UCC’s current efforts to streamline its digital news portal, ‘UUM Today,’ which was launched in August last year.
UUM Today is the university’s first online news portal, serving to disseminate the most recent information and news both on and off campus via various delivery modes such as web TV and web radio.

Dr. Azahar Kasim, Deputy Director (Media and Marketing), UUM Corporate Communication, presented the UUM’s annual calendar, high-impact programmes or “signature programmes” that will be implemented throughout the year, as well as official proposals and media plan allocations, at the Meeting of Public Relations Officers of Public Universities, Departments, and Agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) No. 1/2023, recently.
He introduced UUM Today to the Press Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Mr. Aiman Ariff Abdul Azij, as well as all the public relations officers from the public universities, departments, and agencies in attendance, including the Head of Corporate Communications at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Mr. Zulkifli Bachok.

According to Dr. Azahar, UUM Today is the university’s most recent digital platform for promoting activities that will be or have been implemented by the university, and that it indirectly assists the mass media in ‘quoting’ news about UUM via the portal.
Also, UUM Today showcased news from outside of campus, both national and international, in a variety of categories that were put together by staff and students.
The meeting of public relations officers from MoHE’s public universities, departments, and agencies was held at the Ibnu Bajjah Meeting Room to discuss the planning of promotional activities and publicity programmes for each public university, department, and agency this year.
