SINTOK: The Higher Education Institution Games (SUKIPT) kicked off the event with a series of exciting matches that began yesterday.
Yesterday’s action was packed with preliminary stage matches such as karate, team sepak takraw, petanque – doubles (men and women), lawn bowl (women), 7’s rugby and badminton (singles and doubles) men.
Today, the competition heats up with a lineup of exciting events including golf, aerodance, kayaking, basketball and volleyball, all still in their early stages.
The MTB bike race concluded this morning with an impressive performance from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), KPTM, UniMAP, UTeM and UiTM.
In a thrilling display of determination, 73 contingents and over 6,000 athletes battled fiercely for glory, each vying for the highly-sought after gold medals while proudly representing their respective institutions.
Tonight, the highly anticipated opening ceremony of SUKIPT 2024 will be officiated by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud at the UUM Stadium.
In an exciting development, MoHE has announced a cash prize of RM20,000 for athletes who can successfully shatter the national record.
