SINTOK, 1 September 2025: Dato’ Mohd Zuhri Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UUM Holdings Sdn. Bhd., expressed his hope that the UUM Open Golf Tournament will grow into a prestigious event eagerly anticipated by the country’s golfing community.
Speaking at the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the UUM Open Golf Tournament 2025, he highlighted that the tournament is not merely a platform for competition, but also as an avenue to foster camaraderie among students of the UUM National Golf Academy and other golfers, while at the same time promoting the facilities of the UUM Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club.
“I fervently hope that today’s tournament will serve as a foundation for more significant and prestigious events in the future.
“Hopefully, it can evolve into a biennial event that is highly anticipated, not only by UUM golfing community but also by the golfers across the country,” he said.
The Prize Presentation Ceremony was officiated by His Royal Highness Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin, the Raja Muda of Kedah, who graciously consented to attend and grace the inaugural tournament.
The first-ever UUM Open Golf Tournament 2025 garnered encouraging participation from players across various levels, creating a meaningful opportunity to strengthen UUM’s engagement with the wider community through a distinguished sporting platform.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud, and the Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan.
