UUM Generates RM144,360 in Convocation Souvenir Sales and SUKIPT
SINTOK, 7 January 2025: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) successfully generated RM144,360 in souvenir sales during the 2024 Higher Education Institutions Games (SUKIPT) and the 37th UUM Convocation. Of this total, RM105,573.00 was generated at the 2024 SUKIPT Games while RM38,787.00 was raised during the 37th UUM Convocation.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan attributed the success to a strategic partnership with Exacmust Sdn. Bhd.
He said that UUM remains committed to enhancing productivity and service quality through collaboration between universities and industry players.
“The relationship between academia and industry is interconnected and requires a robust partnership to create effective synergies.
“The MoA marks the strategic collaboration between UUM and Exacmust (M) Sdn Bhd, which has been designated as the supplier for UUM Merchandise Collection (UMC) souvenir sales operation,” he said during the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UUM and Exacmust (M) Sdn. Bhd. & Mock Cheque Handover Session held at the Visitors’ Lounge, Chancellery Building, UUM, yesterday.
He further explained that UUM, through BSD and Exacmust (M) Sdn. Bhd., have joined hands to offer souvenirs catered to market demand with competitive pricing.
“UMC products serve as a means to promote UUM’s identity within the community, both internally and externally.
“It has been shown that the diverse souvenir options in the UUM Merchandise Collection have been well received, catering to the preferences of all demographic including students, staff and the public.
“I am confident that with meticulous planning, consistent implementation and a comprehensive strategy, UUM Merchandise Collection can achieve its sales target for 2025,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the UUM Merchandise Collection initiatives will be continued more vigorously in 2025, hence enhancing income generation for the University.
The ceremony witnessed the MoA being signed by the Vice-Chancellor and the Director of Exacmust Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Mohamad Khir Abdul Razak, followed by the presentation of a cheque for RM28,872 to UUM.
