Dr. Zaim wins the UUM KGSS President’s Cup Golf Championship 2024
SINTOK, 12 February 2025: Director of the UUM Co-Curricular Centre, Dr. Zaim Ahmad, emerged as the champion of the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club (KGSS) President’s Cup Golf Championship 2024, following an impressive performance in the tournament that took place yesterday.
Playing with a handicap of 11, Dr. Zaim finished three under par with a total of 80 strokes.
He overcame fierce competition from Dr. Mohd Adan Omar, who finished as the runner-up with a six-under-par performance and a handicap of 18, while Mr. Ahmad Mujahid Abd Ghani came in third.
“I did not expect to finish three under despite having a handicap of 11, but my strokes have been quite consistent lately.
“The tournament’s maximum of three-under rule also helped make it possible for me to be crowned the president’s cup champion this time,” he said.
The prizes were presented by the President of KGSS, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, during the prize giving ceremony held at the Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club (KGSS).
Interestingly, Dr. Mohd Foad also participated in the tournament.
This year’s tournament saw the participation of 99 players, including 10 golfers from Thailand, who provided formidable competition throughout the 18-hole tournament.
With the successful organisation of this 2024 edition, the KGSS President’s Cup continues to uphold its prestige as an eagerly awaited annual event, attracting both local and international golf enthusiasts.
