UUM Boboyot Clinches Fourth Place, Qualifies for Southeast Asia e-Sports Finals

SINTOK, June 22, 2025: The Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) e-Sports team, Boboyot, made history by clinching first place in the Malaysian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament, earning them a coveted spot in the final round of the Samsung Galaxy Gaming Academy X MLBB Campus Series 2025.

The team comprises of six talented UUM e-Sports athletes who delivered remarkable performances during the online qualifying stage, advancing confidently to the final stage. The team members are Mr. Muhammad Danish Fitri Razali, Mr. Fawwas Hannan Ahmad Fauzi, Mr. Muhammad Aliff Aqreem Ahmadi, Mr. Ahmad Zaim Faezi Fauzi, Mr. Aiman Hakimi Ahmad Zarizi and Mr. Putera Arif Haikal Hairunizam.

The UUM Boboyot team took home 3,000 USD in cash with their 4th place finish.

UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, highlighting that UUM students excel not only in academics but also in the fields of digital and sports technology.

“This success reflects the determination and strong competitive spirit of UUM students in the growing world of e-Sports.

“We take pride in their ability to elevate UUM and Malaysia’s reputation on the global stage,” he said.

Boboyot’s victory secured their place in the final round of the Samsung Galaxy Gaming Academy X MLBB Campus Series 2025, which recently concluded in West Jakarta, Indonesia from the 20th to today.

Malaysia was represented by two teams in this prestigious tournament, namely UUM Boboyot and UPM Pria Idaman from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Both teams competed against elite Southeast Asian teams in the intense final stage.

The achievements of UUM Boboyot aligns with UUM’s vision of producing holistic, balanced and competitive graduates across diverse fields, particularly in emerging fields as technology, innovation and digital sports.
