SINTOK, 4 June 2025: One of the most exhilarating highlights of COB Week 2025 was the Treasure Hunt: Unlocking Mastermind Odyssey – a thrilling and intellectually stimulating event organised by Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) in collaboration with various clubs from the College of Business (COB), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
Held on 22 May 2025, this exhilarating competition brought together over 60 enthusiastic participants from various COB schools. Far from an ordinary campus activity, the Treasure Hunt was meticulously designed to challenge students both mentally and physically, blending intellect, creativity, and agility across seven interactive checkpoints.
Each checkpoint was hosted by different COB clubs – Northern Varsity Accounting Club (NOVAC), Entrepreneur Corporate Club (ECC), Finance and Banking Society (FABS), Economics Student Association (ECOSA), Malaysia Agro Entrepreneurial Club for University Students UUM (MyAgrosis), Bursa Young Investor Club (BYIC), Management of Technology (MOTIC), Islamic Finance and Banking Association (IFBA) and International Business Management Society (IBMS)- transforming their expertise into immersive challenges that demand sharp thinking, tight teamwork, and lightning-fast decisions.
Every stop presented a new twist: intricate riddles, brain-teasing tasks, and strategic puzzles rooted in the club’s field of knowledge. This unique format not only tested academic acumen but also sparked spontaneous collaboration and camaraderie among participants form diverse backgrounds.
Beyond the excitement, the event’s deeper purpose was to strengthen inter-club bonds, promote interdisciplinary learning, and showcase how education can be both fun and impactful. As teams sprinted across the vibrant UUM campus, deciphering clues, and racing against the clock, the campus buzzed with energy, determination, and laughter.
Once the last puzzle was solved, Team Gold emerged as the champion of the Treasure Hunt, exemplifying exceptional strategy, synergy, and resilience throughout the competition. Their victory, along with those of the first and second runners-up, was celebrated during the COB Week Closing Ceremony, where cheers echoed and cash prizes were awarded in front of an energised crowd.
“We wanted to create something that went beyond a typical competition,” said a representative from the organizing committee. This Treasure Hunt was about uniting students from various programmes and pushing them to think differently, and inspiring them to work as one. It truly captured the essence of our COB Week theme: ‘Empower Minds, Transform a Sustainable Future.
In the end, the Treasure Hunt was more than just a game – it was a celebration of innovation, unity, and the unstoppable COB spirit. It forged new friendships, sparked unforgettable memories, and reminded everyone that some of the most valuable lessons happen not within the classroom walls, but in the wild pursuit of knowledge, challenge, and fun.
