SINTOK, 14 Januari 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), led by its Director, Datuk Dr Mohd Zabri Yusoff, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Meeting Room last Monday.

The delegation from INTAN was welcomed by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed. The meeting served as a strategic platform to further strengthen relations and explore new avenues of collaboration in human capital development, particularly within the public service sector.
Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed stated that the bilateral discussion focused on three main agendas. First, the empowerment of the Diploma in Public Administration (DPA) programme, which includes the exploration of potential articulation pathways and credit transfer from INTAN’s Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration to UUM’s master’s programme. This initiative aligns with the University’s commitment to providing flexible and relevant academic pathways.
Second, the APEL.Q initiative, where both institutions discussed the recognition of experiential learning based on work experience for public servants as part of efforts to widen access to higher education for experienced professionals.
Third, strategic collaboration through the joint organisation of scholarly and training programmes between UUM and INTAN to strengthen leadership competencies and governance practices within the public sector.

UUM expressed its appreciation for the visit and conveyed confidence that this strategic collaboration with INTAN would further reinforce the university’s role as a leading reference institution in leadership development and public management in the country.
