2YEP 2023 Workshop inspires new mindsets and entrepreneurial spirit

SINTOK, 4 May 2025: 2YEP 2023 Workshop Inspires New Mindsets and Entrepreneurial Spirit the Mind Transformation and Social Entrepreneurship Workshop tailored specifically for beneficiaries of the 2023 Two-Year Exit Program (2YEP) brought together passion, purpose, and partnership. Organized through a collaboration between researchers from the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy, Universiti Utara Malaysia (TISSA-UUM), and the Department of Social Welfare, the workshop was held from 14 to 17 April 2025 at the EDC-UUM.
A total of 49 beneficiaries took part in the first series of the workshop, themed Mind Transformation, carrying with them enthusiasm, curiosity, and the hope of building a better future. The session was officiated by Mdm. Norsuyani Mohd Noor, Principal Assistant Director of the Productive Welfare and Community Division, Kedah Department of Social Welfare (JKM), who warmly welcomed participants into a space of growth and possibility.
Mdm. Norsuyani described the workshop as more than just a training program. It was, to her, a catalyst for change, as it offered participants a rare opportunity to shift their perspectives, build confidence, and nurture the entrepreneurial mindset needed to improve not just their livelihoods, but also the communities they live in.
She highlighted the strength of the collaboration between academia and the field as a meaningful way to shape not only the knowledge of participants but also their outlook, determination, and direction in life.
The opening ceremony of the CSR Pilot Project program under the supervision of JKM was graced by key figures from the Department of Social Welfare, namely Mr Mohd Azan Hussin, Chief Assistant Director, and Mdm. Nur Syazwani Suhaimi, Senior Assistant Director of the Productive Welfare Division, Productive Client Development Branch, JKM. They were joined by dedicated researchers from TISSA-UUM, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr Raja Haslinda Raja Mohd Ali, Professor Dr Natrah Saad, Assoc. Prof. Dr Saliza Abdul Aziz, and Dr Mohd Hadzrami Harun Rasit, along with UniMap researcher Suhizaz Sudin. – Assoc.
