CIAC prepares UUM’S A252 outbound mobility cohort for global exchange

SINTOK, 12 January 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), through the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) continues to expand its global academic reach with the organisation of an online Pre-Departure Briefing for Outbound Mobility Students for Semester A252.
Conducted via the Webex platform, the session marked a significant milestone for students preparing to undertake a one-semester academic exchange programme at partner universities in Japan, Indonesia, and Romania.

The briefing was designed to equip students with essential academic, administrative, and cultural insights to ensure a smooth transition into their international study experience.
Beyond logistical preparations, the session also captured the unmistakable enthusiasm and anticipation among the participants, who are eager to immerse themselves in new academic systems, diverse cultural landscapes, and globally oriented learning environments. This mobility opportunity is expected to broaden their intellectual horizons, enhance intercultural competence, and cultivate valuable global perspectives.

Students selected for the Semester A252 outbound mobility programme will pursue their studies at several prestigious partner institutions, including Universitas Indonesia, Waseda University and Shibaura Institute of Technology, and the West University of Timisoara.
They expressed their readiness to embrace new academic challenges, adapt to different cultures, and serve as ambassadors of UUM abroad.
The session was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr Norliza Katuk, Deputy Director of CIAC, who provided comprehensive guidance to support the students in their preparations.

She congratulated all participating students and extended her best wishes for their academic success, safety, and personal growth throughout their international mobility journey.
