Director of Industry Relations Division Pays Courtesy Visit to Strengthen Strategic Collaboration

SINTOK, 26 February 2025: The Director of the Industry Relations Division at the Department of Higher Education, Dato’ Dr Mohd Sharil Abdullah, paid a courtesy visit to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

His arrival, along with the delegation, was warmly welcomed by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, at his office yesterday.

During the visit, Dato’ Dr Mohd Sharil discussed the 2025 initiatives concerning industry and community engagement activities that the Ministry of Higher Education plans to implement throughout the year.

The meeting, held in a relaxed yet meaningful atmosphere, served as a platform for discussions on various contemporary issues and facilitated an exchange of views on the latest developments in higher education and the industry.

This visit also coincided with the Deputy Vice-Chancellors’ Committee Meeting (Industry and Community Engagement) of Public Universities, held at the UUM Senate Meeting Room.

Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Russayani Ismail, and Director of the University-Industry Collaboration Centre (CUIC), Prof. Dr Chandrakantan Subramaniam.

This visit undoubtedly reinforces the relationship between UUM and MOHE, further enhancing strategic collaboration between the university and the ministry.
