Universities Provide the Best Talent to Advance the Country
SINTOK, 13 November 2024 – Universities play an important role in producing the nation’s finest talent.
Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan emphasised that the universities play crucial role in shaping, developing and educating talents essential for a nation’s future.
“These talents are essential for the continued development of the country, as they have mastered knowledge and honed high skills at the university,” he said at the fifth session of the 37th UUM Convocation Ceremony held at the Mu’adzam Shah Hall on Tuesday.
According to him, the university has cultivated the best talents or human capital meticulously evaluated, screened and classified, ready to step into the world of industry, engage with life and contribute to the nation’s development.
“When the university produces the best talents, the industry will benefit from a steam of highly skilled personnel and these outstanding graduates will bring new ideas to the organisation.
“In addition, it can significantly reduce the cost of training for employees when these graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills that align with business needs.
“Finally, the organisation will have a line of supporting leaders and management who are able to contribute to the success of an organisation,” he said.
In addition, he urged all graduates to remain receptive to the pursuit of new knowledge.
“Do not become weary of acquiring new skills considering that today’s world relies heavily on technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technology and so on. Make the pursuit of knowledge a lifelong process,” he said.
He conferred degrees to graduands of Bachelor of Risk Management and Insurance, Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management, Bachelor of Accounting (Information Systems), Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Muamalat Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration (Logistics and Transportation).
