UUM Strengthens Global Ties with Silesian University of Technology, Poland
SINTOK, 22 September 2025: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) continues to strengthen its international partnerships through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Silesian University of Technology (SUT), Poland, in a ceremony held this morning at the Visitor’s Lounge, Sultan Sallehuddin Chancellery Building.
Through this MoU, UUM and SUT will collaborate in various areas including students and staff mobility, academic exchange, joint research, as well as the sharing of expertise in the field of technology and management.
Representing the Vice-chancellor, UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic and International) Prof. Dr Azizudin Mohd Sani said the signing of this MoU marks a strategic step in expanding UUM’s academic collaborations at the global level.
“This collaboration will open up significant opportunities for UUM students and academics to gain international exposure through academic exchanges and joint research. It not only strengthens UUM’s position as a leading management university, but also demonstrates our commitment to advancing the globalisation agenda of higher education,” he said.
He added that forging ties with a highly reputable institution in Europe will provide added value to UUM’s efforts in enhancing academic excellence, research innovation and talent development.
Vice Rector for Science and International Cooperation SUT, Poland, Prof. Sebastian Werle expressed confidence that the collaboration will create new opportunities for students and staff, while fostering innovation and addressing current global challenges.
“SUT remains committed to this collaboration through joint programmes, staff and student mobility and shared educational initiatives. I am confident that all these projects can be successfully developed,” he said.
