Vice-Chancellor Visits SOC Facilities, Ensures Staff and Student Comfort

SINTOK, 11 January 2026 — The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Professor Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, conducted a visit to the School of Computing (SOC) together with the team from the Department of Development and Infrastructure Management (JPPI) to assess the condition of existing facilities and identify areas requiring improvement.

The Vice-Chancellor was welcomed by the Dean of the School of Computing, Professor Ts. Dr Osman Ghazali, who is also the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of UUM CAS.

According to Professor Dr Osman, the visit aimed to evaluate both teaching and learning facilities as well as support staff amenities, including restrooms and common spaces within the SOC building, to ensure that standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort are consistently met.

The inspection revealed several areas requiring enhancement. Improvement works will be implemented in phases, with completion targeted before the commencement of the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session (A252).

This initiative reflects the Vice-Chancellor’s continued commitment, together with the university’s management, to safeguarding the well-being of the campus community and to providing a conducive, safe, and high-quality environment for learning and work.
