PUTRAJAYA, 4 Mac 2025: The Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), in collaboration with the Uzbekistan delegation and Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya, successfully organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme centred on the preparation and distribution of Bubur Lambuk for the local community. This initiative aimed to promote cultural exchange while fostering the spirit of giving in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadhan.
As part of their immersion into Malaysia’s rich culinary and cultural heritage, Uzbekistan students and lecturers were introduced to Bubur Lambuk, a traditional Malaysian dish commonly prepared during Ramadhan. Under the guidance of the culinary team at Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya, participants learned how to cook the hearty rice porridge, renowned for its fragrant blend of spices, coconut milk, and minced chicken.
Once prepared, more than 200 portions of Bubur Lambuk were distributed to drivers, bikers, and food stall operators around Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya.
The initiative not only provided warm meals to the local community but also facilitated meaningful interactions between the international participants and Malaysians. The Uzbekistan delegation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to experience and contribute to Malaysia’s cultural traditions.
According to Madam Izza Safinaz Ibrahim, Marcom Manager at Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya, the event was part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to community outreach and cultural appreciation. The management emphasised the importance of sharing traditions with international guests while fostering unity through culinary experiences.
This CSR programme exemplified the power of cultural exchange, goodwill, and community engagement, leaving a lasting impact on both the participants and the local community.
Through initiatives like this, CIAC, UUM, and its partners continue to strengthen global connections while promoting Malaysia’s rich traditions on an international stage. – Mohd Azri Abdul Aziz
