Empower Future Leaders Through Discipline

SINTOK, 22 April 2025: Students of Universiti Utara Malaysia particularly members of the Student Police Volunteer Corps (SUKSIS Corps) are urged to develop themselves into disciplined officers and exemplary leaders.

The Head of Crime Prevention and Community Safety of the Kedah Contingent, Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal urged trainees to begin moulding themselves into successful officers or leaders through early involvement in SUKSIS Corps training.

According to him, as students and trainees, discipline must be instilled in every aspect of life through participation in the SUKSIS Corps, and they should avoid any behaviour that could lead to misconduct.

“I also wish to remind everyone to remain steadfast in performing prayers and to engage in acts of kindness, not for personal benefit, but also for the betterment of the society and the nation.

“May the SUKSIS Corps continue to serve as a benchmark for future leadership, defined by excellence and discipline it upholds,” he said during the UUM SUKSIS Corps Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration 2025, held at EDC last Sunday.

UUM Vice-Chancellor and Commandant of the UUM SUKSIS Corps, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan said that the objective of the event was to foster camaraderie and goodwill not only among SUKSIS Corps trainees, but also with the honoured guests in attendance.

According to him, events such as this contribute to strengthening bonds and promoting understanding among SUKSIS Corps members from diverse racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

He noted that the strong camaraderie among members of the SUKSIS Corps was clearly reflected in the successful teamwork demonstrated during the  organisation of the event, which in one fell swoop showcased the Corps’  close-kit and cooperative spirit.

“The organisation of this event also serves as a valuable platform for the trainees of the SUKSIS Corps to gain exposure and develop skills in planning and manging events. These experiences help mould graduates who are skilled, competitive, disciplined, confident and instilled with noble values and integrity – qualities synonymous with the Royal Malaysia Police.

“This event also provides an opportunity for administrative staff and trainees to enhance communication and interaction within the organisation, hence strengthening mutual understanding among attendees from various ethnic and religious background,” he added.

The event continued with a short video presentation and a symbolic launch gimmick, followed by performances by the trainees and a lucky draw. The celebration also featured karaoke sessions by trainers and honoured guests, a special performance by the Head of JPJKK and concluded with the presentation of gifts and souvenirs.
