JCorp President Appointed as Adjunct Professor at UUM School of Government
JOHOR BAHRU, 29 May 2025: Johor Corporation (JCorp) President and Chief Executive, Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Government (SOG) Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
The appointment letter was officially presented by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, in a ceremony held yesterday at the CEREBRUM Tower KOMTAR IIBD.
The presentation was witnessed by the Dean of SOG, Assoc. Prof. PMgr Sr. Dr Mohamad Sukeri Khalid.
In conjunction with the appointment, a University-Industry Synergy programme featuring the JCorp President and Chief Executive Officer is scheduled to take place in June at UUM. The programme aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry by engaging university lecturers and students.
According to Dr Mohamad Sukeri, the programme will consist of two main components. The first is the JCorp-UUM Industry Mentorship Programme, which is tailored for lecturers. The second is a dialogue session titled Dialogue with the President of JCorp: Developing Career Paths, open to all UUM students.
In his speech, Datuk Syed Mohamed expressed his appreciation for the appointment and welcomed the opportunity to share his insights and experiences with the academic community.
He also highlighted the growing importance of the digital world in both the present and future as the mainstay of organisational development.
Datuk Syed Mohame, who has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of JCorp since January 2020, brings with him extensive experience in leadership transformation and organisational change. He remains committed to driving JCorp’s strategic focus on digital innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.
Also in attendance at the event were the Deputy Dean (Academic and International) of SOG, Dr Sharif Shofirun Sharif Ali, along with senior officials from JCorp.
