SINTOK, 11 March 2025: The first series of the Phase IV (2026-2030) Strategic Plan Development Workshop, held in collaboration with the UUM Council of Professors, took place at the Angsana Hall, EDC UUM yesterday.
The workshop aimed to gather valuable insights and input from UUM Council of Professors in drafting the Phase IV Strategic Plan, which will drive UUM’ s development for the period 2026 – 2030.
In his speech, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, highlighted that UUM is currently formulating its Phase IV Strategic Plan (2026-2030) in alignment with the Ministry of Higher Education Plan 2026-2030, launched by MoHE, covering a 10-year period.
“When this new Ministry of Higher Education Plan is approved by the Cabinet, it will serve as a crucial guideline for universities across the country,” he said.
He also emphasised that various aspects have been thoroughly refined to ensure UUM continues progressing towards its goal of becoming the Eminent Management University.
“We have a great opportunity over the next 10 years to elevate UUM to a stronger and more distinguished position,” he added.
According to him, UUM will work closely with MOHE, industry players, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that each planned initiative delivers comprehensive benefits and positive impacts on society and the nation.
“The core presentation from the three groups earlier were centred on the vision of establishing UUM as the Eminent Management University. This is not the only main goal but also the fundamental guideline in formulating the strategies to achieve it,” he said.
At the same time, he also expressed his deepest appreciation to the Corporate Planning and Performance Division (BPPK) for organising this highly beneficial workshop.
