PKKPK showcases expertise at Women Beyond Borders 2025

SINTOK, 16 March 2025: Management and Leadership Case Study Centre (PKKPK) Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) demonstrated its expertise in case study research and development at the Women Beyond Borders 2025 Symposium.

Director of PKKPK, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narentheren Kaliappen and Dr. Noor Amalina Mat Yusof shared valuable insights on women’s empowerment, focusing on the transformative roles of technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and education. Hosted virtually by Kaplan Business School, Australia, the symposium brought together a diverse group of academics, policymakers, and industry experts to explore strategies for advancing gender equality and fostering inclusive economic growth.

The event featured a thought-provoking keynote address by Dr. Samantha Pillay, a pioneering urological surgeon and advocate for leadership, innovation, and gender inclusivity. Moderated by Dr. Shanthy Thuraisingham, the panel discussion included several distinguished experts who explored how technology and education can break barriers and create sustainable opportunities for women across the globe.

Representing PKKPK-UUM, Dr. Narentheren and Dr. Noor Amalina highlighted the vital role case studies play in understanding and scaling successful women’s empowerment initiatives. Their presentation, “Global Case Studies in Women’s Empowerment: Harnessing Technology, AI, and Education for Inclusive Growth,” examined real-world examples from various regions, emphasizing strategies that have enabled women to access greater economic and leadership opportunities.

The session underscored how AI, digital platforms, and STEM education are being harnessed to develop inclusive, sustainable models adaptable to different social and economic contexts.

“Case studies offer invaluable insights into what works and why. By analyzing these real-world examples, we can guide better decision-making for organizations and policymakers,” said Dr. Narentheren.
