SINTOK, 17 August 2025: The Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia, has successfully completed its 2025 Internal Quality Audit, reaffirming its strong commitment to excellence in postgraduate education.

The two-day audit was held from 10 to 11 August 2025. It covered operations at OYAGSB Sintok, Kuala Lumpur, and the Islamic Business School (IBS), assessing compliance with MS ISO 9001:2015 standards and evaluated alignment with the University’s overarching quality objectives.

The process was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Laila Suriya Ahmad Apandi, assisted by Assoc. Prof. Dr Logasvathi Murugiah and Assoc. Prof. Dr Indraah Kolandaisamy.

The audit specifically examined three new Quality System Procedures introduced on 14 July 2025: Postgraduate Colloquium/Symposium (QP012), Proposal Defence (QP013), and Viva Voce (QP014). Beyond ensuring compliance, the audit provided valuable recommendations to enhance clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness in postgraduate management systems. These insights will guide OYAGSB in refining its processes and embedding best practices.

Starting Semester A251, OYAGSB will assume an expanded role in overseeing viva proceedings for postgraduate candidates across the College of Business (COB). This responsibility will include the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA), School of Business Management (SBM), School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB), School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML), and IBS.

Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Dr Hassan Abu Bakar, expressed his appreciation to the audit team. “We will implement the recommendations to further strengthen our quality standards,” he said. – Saharah Saad
