The countdown is on : Only 20 days left until Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) opens its doors to 27 visiting professors and lecturers from 12 countries for the much-anticipated International Faculty Exchange Week (IFEX @ UUM 2025), taking place from 25 to 31 October 2025.
As part of the pre-arrival preparations, a virtual briefing session was conducted on 1 October 2025 at 3.00 PM, bringing together all visiting professors, their assigned UUM hosts, and the Deputy Deans (Academic and International) of participating schools. The session provided important information about academic arrangements, cultural programs, accommodation, and engagement activities throughout the exchange week.
Earlier, a host briefing session was held on 25 September 2025 at 2.30 PM for all UUM lecturers appointed as hosts. Organised by the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), the session outlined the objectives of IFEX, hosting guidelines, and expectations for fostering meaningful collaboration between UUM and partner universities.
This year’s IFEX marks another milestone in UUM’s efforts to strengthen global academic linkages, bringing together scholars from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to exchange expertise, share best practices, and build long-term academic networks.
A heartfelt thank you to all participating schools and UUM hosts for their active involvement and support in making this programme possible. Your commitment and collaboration embody UUM’s vision of promoting global engagement, cross-cultural understanding, and academic excellence.
Let us join hands in extending a warm welcome to our distinguished visiting professors and lecturers — and look forward to an inspiring and intellectually enriching week ahead at IFEX @ UUM 2025.
