SINTOK, 16 December 2025: The Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), in collaboration with the Global Buddies Club (GBC) and the UUM National Golf Academy (AGN UUM), successfully organised “The Golf Groove” programme on 9 December 2025 at the National Golf Academy, UUM, for the A251 inbound mobility students.

The programme was designed to introduce mobility students to golf as a recreational sport while fostering interaction and engagement in an inclusive and supportive environment. Participants comprised mobility students, professional golf coaches from the AGN UUM, and members of the GBC committee.
The programme commenced with a brief warm-up and ice-breaking session to prepare participants for the activities ahead. This was followed by an introductory briefing on golf, during which participants were introduced to basic techniques, safety procedures and essential golfing etiquette.

The core component of the programme involved a guided golf practice session conducted under the supervision of experienced AGN UUM coaches. Participants received hands-on instruction in fundamental golfing skills, including grip, posture, and swing techniques. The session provided participants valuable practical exposure to the sport in a structured and well-coordinated setting.
The programme concluded with the distribution of souvenirs and a group photo session. CIAC and GBC extend their sincere appreciation to the AGN UUM golf coaches for their professionalism, guidance, and commitment throughout the programme. Overall, “The Golf Groove” programme successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing mobility students’ engagement through sports-based activities while supporting CIAC’s ongoing efforts to promote meaningful interaction and holistic development within the university community. – Chong Ke Sin
