IPRMSA-UUM Chapter hosts corporate talk with an industry leader

SINTOK, 13 January 2025: The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA) UUM Chapter successfully organized the Corporate Talk: Sharing Session with an Industry Leader in conjunction with Karnival IDEA SMMTC.

The event, held at Dewan Seminar SMMTC, featured Mr. Jaffri Amin Osman, President of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), providing valuable insights into the dynamic and evolving field of public relations.

The session was graced by the presence of Honorary Secretary of IPRM, Mr Mohd Nur Najmi Nuji;  Deputy Dean of Academics and International, Assoc. Prof. Dr Romlah Ramli and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Zuwairi Mat Saad from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The event also saw the participation of IPRMSA-UUM Chapter committee members, along with the club’s advisor, Dr. Nursafwah Tugiman, and a large audience of UUM’s students eager to deepen their knowledge of communication and public relations.

Industry Insights from a PR Expert

With more than 30 years of experience as a Senior Public Relations Consultant and Managing Director of World Communications, Mr. Jaffri Amin—fondly known as Mr. Jeff—shared his expertise on Public Relation, highlighting industry trends, challenges, and strategic approaches.

As a Fellow of both IPRM and the ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN), Mr. Jeff has received numerous international recognitions, including the Best PR Consultant Award at the First Global Muslim Public Relations Excellence Awards.

He also served as the Conference Director of the Kuala Lumpur International PR Conference (KLIP) for six consecutive years (2019-2024).

“To excel in the field of public relations (or any field you choose), you need to be SQUARE: S – Strategic, Q – Quick, U – Unique, A – Agile, R – Resourceful, and E – Engaging. From my years as a practitioner, SQUARE is the strategy I’ve developed to effectively manage PR & brand campaigns and organizational crises”, says Mr Jeff.
