UUM Campus Community Unites in Maulidur Rasul 2025M/1447H Celebration

SINTOK, 16 October 2025: The Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Maulidur Rasul 2025M/1447H Celebration held at the Sultan Badlishah Mosque today reflected the university community’s deep love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and their shared commitment to nurturing a Madani Ummah that is knowledgeable, moral and based on Islamic values.

UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, in his address, stressed that the Maulidur Rasul celebration is not merely about the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but also a meaningful platform to appreciate his struggles and contributions in building a civilized society based on faith, knowledge and charity.

“Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the finest example of leadership in forming a madani society, based on love, justice, responsibility and unity. His personality as a leader, educator and noble person should be used as a guide in leadership, education and development of society today,” he said.

He further highlighted that this year’s theme of “Membangun Ummah Madani”, resonates strongly with the university’s aspiration to produce graduates who are intellectually and spiritually balanced, capable of contributing to the well-being of the wider society.

The celebration was also enlivened by a special Maulidur Rasul lecture delivered by the Mufti of Kedah Darul Aman, Dato’ Paduka (Dr.) Syeikh Fadzil Haji Awang, titled “Meneladani Rasulullah Asas Masyarakat Madani”.

The blessed ceremony came alive with the Maulidur Rasul procession, joined by 33 contingents of UUM staff and students from across the university.
