SINTOK, 25 April 2026: All students of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) are entitled to an equitable learning experience, regardless of their study mode, whether full-time or part-time.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, reaffirmed that UUM remains committed to ensuring inclusive education opportunities for all students enrolled at the university.
“As long as they are UUM students, we will ensure they receive the same treatment as full-time students. Regardless of their programme background, they are part of the UUM community. As of 2025, UUM through the Professional & Continuing Education Centre (PACE) has produced 10,977 graduates, while approximately 750 graduates are expected to complete their studies in 2026,” he said.
Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed made these remarks during the Vice-Chancellor’s Engagement Session with part-time students, organised by PACE, held at Seminar Hall A, Convention Complex, UUM Sintok.
Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr Bakti Hasan Basri, along with lecturers and university staff members.
The Vice-Chancellor added that the engagement session served as a vital platform for PACE students to voice their views throughout their studies at UUM, as well as to share challenges they encounter that could be effectively resolved by the university.

Meanwhile, PACE Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rozita Abdul Mutalib stated that since its establishment on 1 April 1999, PACE has remained on the right trajectory in advancing quality lifelong learning, in line with its mission to produce innovative human capital through UUM’s continuing education programmes.
She added that PACE continues to play a significant role in offering flexible and relevant educational opportunities that respond to current demands, particularly in attracting working individuals to pursue higher education through part-time study pathways.
“PACE remains committed to its vision of becoming a leading centre for continuing education management. To realise this, aspiration, we emphasise a comprehensive learning system, infrastructure that meets accreditation standards and highly qualified academic staff,” she said.
In terms of current enrolment, as of 23 April 2026, PACE recorded 2116 active students comprising 1645 part-time students and 471 students enrolled under the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
This reflects the community’s confidence in UUM PACE’s role in providing inclusive and flexible access to education.
