UUM Wins Two Journal Publication Awards
PUTRAJAYA: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received two journal publication awards at the Ministry of Higher Education Award—Elsevier Research Excellence Awards, taking home RM16,000 in cash on Saturday.
The two award-winning journals are the Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICT) and the Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction (MJLI).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, stated that this achievement is a source of immense pride, as UUM successfully met its obligation to produce high-impact and Scopus-indexed journals.
He said the award demonstrated the capability of UUM academics to contribute to research and effectively lead high-impact publications with Scopus-indexed citations.
The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Mustapha Samud, presented more than 10 Scopus and Elsevier publication awards to academics from various universities across the country.
This award recognises the achievements of academics who produce high-impact research and publications indexed by Scopus. Additional award categories include Highly Cited Researchers and High Impact Papers, as well as the Scopus Journal Creme Award.
Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan stated that UUM received accolades in the Social Sciences and Science and Technology categories.
The Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr Zambri Abdul Kadir, officiated the awards ceremony as part of the Putrajaya Ideas Festival, which the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) organised at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) from 27 to 29 November 2024.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Russayani Ismail.
