SINTOK, 24 December 2025: Global Buddies Club (GBC), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), successfully organised a recreational programme titled “The Sport Day: Play, Connect & Enjoy” for inbound mobility students of the A251 semester at UUM Sports Centre. The programme aimed to provide international students with opportunities to participate in a range of sports and recreational activities within a relaxed, open, and enjoyable environment, while also promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

The programme attracted a total of 46 participants, comprising 23 inbound mobility students, 19 GBC members, three sports trainers, and one staff member from the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC). Through activities such as badminton, squash, table tennis, and basketball, participants engaged in physical exercise that supported physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall wellness in a stress-free and inclusive setting.
The programme commenced with a group warm-up session to prepare participants physically, followed by a briefing on the programme structure, rotation system, and guidelines for the use of sports facilities. This ensured that all participants were well informed and able to take part safely and confidently.

Sporting activities were conducted using a rotation system across four stations, namely badminton, squash, table tennis, and basketball. Participants were divided into small groups, allowing each group to experience all four sports within the allocated time. Members of the GBC served as facilitators, providing basic guidance, encouraging participation, and ensuring smooth transitions between stations.
The programme concluded with the distribution of souvenirs, the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the sports trainers, a group photo session, and words of appreciation to all participants and supporting parties. Overall, “The Sport Day: Play, Connect & Enjoy” was successfully implemented and served as a meaningful platform for promoting healthy living, fostering social interaction, and enhancing cultural exchange between inbound mobility students and the wider UUM community. – Aliya Zulhelmi
