Double Victory for BGS: Champion and Second Runner-Up at “Excel Battleground 2.0”

SINTOK, 6 November 2025: The Excel Battleground 2.0 competition, held at SENTRAL College Penang, proved to be an exciting and intellectually charged event designed to promote digital proficiency, analytical thinking, and data-driven problem-solving skills among students.

Jointly organised by SENTRAL College Penang and powered by OA Group of Companies, Digital Penang, and the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), the event gathered bright and ambitious students from various institutions of higher learning. Participants demonstrated their mastery of Microsoft Excel through a series of rigorous, time-bound analytical thinking challenges that tested both precision and creativity. The event served as a dynamic platform to highlight the growing importance of a digital literacy in today’s professional landscape.

Representing Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) UUM Chapter, Ms. Nur Athirah binti Shahrul Nizam and Ms. Ng Sze Hui, showcased exceptional technical skill, teamwork, and composure under pressure —traits that propelled them to victory as Champion and Second Runner-Up, respectively. Their remarkable achievements mark yet another milestone for BGS UUM Chapter in its ongoing mission to nurture competence, confidence, and leadership excellence among its members.
Adding prestige to the occasion were distinguished guests including Mr. Albert Khoo, Chairman of Excel Battleground 2.0; Mr. Axton Yong, Head of Corporate Advisory, OA Group of Companies; and Mr. Tan Peng Hooi, Deputy Principal of SENTRAL College Penang. Their presence underscored the spirit of collaboration between academia and industry, inspiring participants to continuously strive for excellence in both educational and professional pursuits.

The event was further graced by Dr. Nor Atikah binti Shafai, BGS UUM Chapter Coordinator, who attended in person to lend her full support and encouragement to the university’s representatives. The warm hospitality and meticulous organisation by SENTRAL College Penang created an ideal atmosphere for both competition and camaraderie. Its vibrant learning environment and friendly community provided the perfect setting for participants to connect, challenge themselves, and grow together.
