Young People Encouraged to Maximise Ramadan with Positive Initiatives

SINTOK, 12 March 2025: Young people have been urged to make the most of the month of Ramadan by engaging in meaningful initiatives aimed at fostering their involvement in beneficial activities.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, stated that such efforts can help cultivate a sense of togetherness and enhance the fulfilment of worship while also revitalising communal traditions.

He noted that the Foundation Studies in Management Student Association for the 2024/2025 Session, in collaboration with the Management team at the Centre for Foundation Studies in Management, had organised the Barakah Ramadan campaign. This initiative features a variety of engaging programmes throughout the month of Ramadan, including the Palestine Solidarity and Ramadan Reflection.

He said that the content of these programmes reflects an excellent endeavour during the sacred month of Ramadan, and the wisdom of fasting is a form of worship that requires submission and obedience to the commands of Allah.

“Fasting is also strengthens resilience in the soul, fosters personal growth and nurtures empathy for the struggles of others.

“I hope this fasting month will cultivate outstanding individuals, particularly those who will become future leaders and key contributors to national development,” he said at the Iftar Ceremony hosted by the student leaders of the Foundation Studies in Management Student Association at EDC UUM, yesterday.

Meanwhile, the President of the Foundation Studies in Management Student Association, Session 2024/2025, Mr. Muhammad Thaqif Amsyar Azman said that the association, in collaboration with the Management team at the Centre for Foundation Studies in Management, has planned and implemented more than 39 programmes. These initiatives aim to equip students with valuable experiences and skills, ensuring they develop into excellent leaders in the future.

According to him, the UUM Foundation Studies in Management programme serves as a preparatory stage for students before they advance to their Bachelor’s Degree studies.

The programme continued with the Ramadan Tazkirah delivered by Dr. Amirul Haqeem Abd Ghani, a Senior Lecturer at the Islamic Business School, titled ‘Ramadan Forms Excellent Leadership’.
