ALOR SETAR, 23 July 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) through the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) and the UUM Centre for Zakat & Waqf (PZW), in collaboration with the Indonesian Multidisciplinary Lecturer Community (IMLC) and Albukhary International University (AIU), successfully organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at Pondok Moden Zakat Kedah.

The initiative brought together more than 50 lecturers from Indonesia representing the IMLC, together with postgraduate student volunteers from Albukhary International University (AIU), to conduct a series of educational, motivational, and interactive learning activities for the students of Pondok Moden Zakat Kedah.

Designed to promote knowledge sharing and cross-cultural engagement, the programme provided students with an enriching learning experience through activities that encouraged critical thinking, effective communication, and self-confidence.

Beyond its community outreach objectives, the initiative also demonstrated the participating institutions’ shared commitment to empowering future generations through meaningful educational engagement while strengthening regional academic collaboration.

Speaking at the event, the Principal of Pondok Moden Zakat Kedah, Mejar Bersekutu (PA) Mohd Haris Faiza bin Abd Aziz Al-Hafiz, expressed his appreciation to all collaborating institutions for selecting the school as the venue for the CSR initiative.

“This programme is highly beneficial for our students as it provides them with valuable exposure to an international academic environment and offers them the opportunity to interact directly with lecturers from Indonesia and postgraduate students from AIU.

Such experiences broaden their perspectives, enhance their confidence, and inspire them to pursue greater aspirations.  We sincerely hope that initiatives like this will continue in the future,” he said.

The programme concluded with a presentation of tokens of appreciation ceremony and a group photograph, symbolising the strong partnership forged   among UUM, OYAGSB, PZW, IMLC, AIU, and Pondok Moden Zakat Kedah in advancing educational excellence, regional collaboration and community well-being.
