ALOR SETAR, 22 July 2026: The Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), has successfully facilitated a strategic engagement between Albukhary International University (AIU) and the Indonesian Multidisciplinary Lecturer Community (IMLC), paving the way for AIU to establish collaborative partnerships with higher education institutions across Indonesia.
The engagement took place during an Academic Sharing Session held at AIU following the Community Service Programme at Pondok Moden Zakat Kedah.
The session brought together academics and postgraduate students to exchange perspectives on higher education, internationalisation, research collaboration, and community engagement. It also served as a platform to explore future collaborative initiatives, particularly in the areas of joint research, academic publications, and community-based programmes.
Welcoming the delegation, Director of the Centre for Graduate Studies, Albukhary International University, Professor Dr Yusnidah Ibrahim, introduced AIU’s distinctive educational philosophy, highlighting the university’s commitment to social business and its mission to empower students from diverse backgrounds through quality education and sustainable development.
In her remarks, Professor Dr Yusnidah reaffirmed AIU’s commitment to fostering meaningful international partnerships, particularly with higher education institutions in Indonesia.
“At Albukhary International University, we place great emphasis on social business as a catalyst for creating positive societal impact. We are always open to exploring collaborative opportunities with higher education institutions in Indonesia, particularly in the areas of academic exchange, research, and community engagement that deliver mutual benefits to our institutions and society,” she said.
She also conveyed her sincere appreciation to the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia, for initiating the collaboration and facilitating the visit by the IMLC delegation, which has opened new avenues for future institutional partnerships.
The Academic Sharing Session concluded with a lively exchange of ideas among participants, laying a strong foundation for future collaborations between AIU and Indonesian universities. The initiative also reaffirmed the participating institutions’ shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, strengthening research collaboration, and expanding meaningful community engagement across the region.
