Appointment of Ts. Dr. Noraisah Spahat Strengthens UUM-MoHE Strategic Synergy
SINTOK, 26 July 2026 – Newly appointed Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Board of Directors (LPU) member, Ts. Dr. Noraisah binti Spahat, attended an induction session designed to familiarise her with the University’s governance structure, management framework, and strategic direction in preparation for her role as an LPU member.
The session, which took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Meeting Room, Sultan Sallehuddin Chancellery Building, commenced with a welcoming address by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, who congratulated Ts. Dr. Noraisah on her appointment as a member of the LPU.
Professor Dr. Ahmand Martadha expressed confidence that Ts. Dr. Noraisah’s extensive experience and expertise would make a valuable contribution to strengthening UUM’s excellence, especially in the aspects of governance, strategic development and institutional management.
“UUM is confident that the appointment of Ts. Dr. Noraisah will further strengthen the University’s pursuit of excellence while enhancing the strategic partnership between UUM and the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). This close relationship is essential in supporting the implementation of national higher education policies and driving the continuous development of national higher education,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the stronger synergy between UUM and MoHE would be reflected through active engagement in meetings, programmes and various university activities that would bring mutual benefits to both parties.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohd Zulkifli Mohd Noor @ Muhammad, who is performing the duties of the Registrar, delivered a briefing on the University’s governance.
The briefing covered the composition and roles of the University Board of Directors, the structure and functions of the LPU, its standing committees, meeting procedures and key aspects related to the University’s management and administration.
The induction session provided Ts. Dr. Noraisah with a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an LPU member, thus strengthening her readiness to contribute strategic insights and informed perspectives towards advancing UUM’s aspirations of becoming the eminent management university.
Also present were UUM Legal Advisor, Associate Professor Dr. Khadijah Mohamed, Director of the Chancellery, Mr. Muhammad Iskandar Zulkarnain Muhammad Suhaimi and UUM officials.
