UUM SIGNS MOU WITH ASSOCIATION OF INDONESIAN ACCOUNTING LECTURERS (ADAI)

UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) formalised a new academic partnership with the Association of Indonesian Accounting Lecturers (ADAI) through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in a ceremony organised by the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA) at the Visitors’ Lounge, Sultan Sallehuddin Chancellery Building, last Thursday.

The ceremony was officiated by UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, together with ADAI President, Mr.  Arfan Ikhsan Lubis; ADAI Secretary-General, Mr. Ngatemin and ADAI Committee Member, Mr. Indra Maipita.

In his speech, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha described the signing of the MoU as a significant step towards strengthening academic ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

In addition, he noted that the collaboration would open up opportunities for knowledge sharing, joint research initiatives, and the mobility of students and lecturers between the two institutions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Arfan Ikhsan also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of both parties in establishing the academic collaboration and expressed his hope that the MoU would further strengthen professional and scholarly ties between lecturers and institutions in Malaysia and Indonesia.

This collaboration also provides a platform to promote UUM’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes to lecturers and academics in Indonesia. In addition, it opens opportunities for students to undertake practicum placements at TISSA UUM, while also offering complimentary membership to 20 TISSA lecturers, enabling them to actively participate in various professional activities and academic networking initiatives.

The ceremony then continued with the formal signing of the MoU between UUM and ADAI, marking a new chapter in academic cooperation between the two parties.
