UUM Vice-Chancellor supports SUTRANITA’s 2026 agenda
SINTOK, 8 January 2026: The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Professor Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, engaged with the leadership of the Universiti Utara Malaysia Women’s Association (SUTRANITA) in conjunction with the association’s first meeting of 2026.
Held at the Chancellery Meeting Room, his presence underscored the university management’s strong support for SUTRANITA’s ongoing role in empowering its members and advancing women’s leadership within the university community.
The meeting was chaired by the President of SUTRANITA, Professor Dr Haslinda Ibrahim, and attended by 17 members of the association’s leadership, comprising two Vice-Presidents and 15 Committee Members.
In her opening remarks, Professor Dr Haslinda commended the dedication and commitment of the committee members, highlighting their successful implementation of various impactful activities throughout 2025.
“The success of the association hinges on close cooperation among committee members and the wider membership. We must remain proactive, focused, and united in order to achieve our objectives,” she said.
She also encouraged open and constructive participation, inviting all committee members to contribute ideas and perspectives to shape the association’s direction in a more dynamic and forward-looking manner.
The meeting discussed three main agendas, namely the presentation of the 2025 activity report, new program proposals to be implemented throughout 2026, and the initial planning of the association’s financial management.
All proposed activities received positive feedback and unanimous agreement from the leadership present, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the association’s impact.
The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with strong confidence that SUTRANITA will continue to deliver greater value and meaningful benefits to its members in the year ahead.
As a symbolic closing, Professor Dr Ahmad Martadha joined Professor Dr Haslinda and the committee members for a commemorative photograph in conjunction with the New Year celebration, marking the beginning of a new chapter for SUTRANITA with the full support of the university.
