UUM Welcomes 265 New Foundation Studies in Management Students for 2026/2027 Session

SINTOK, 14 June 2026: The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed congratulated parents and students who successfully secured places in the UUM Foundation Studies in Management Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session, describing the programme as a competitive programme with only 265 students selected for admission.

During a session with parents and guardians of the new Foundation Studies in Management students, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed assured them that UUM remains committed to prioritising student welfare through the provision of 16 forms of assistance for students in need.

The assistance includes financial aid, learning equipment such as laptops, living support assistance, early study assistance and various other forms of support initiatives to help students focus on completing their studies at UUM.

“We are truly proud that many of the parents present today are UUM alumni who have once again chosen this university as the preferred educational destination for their children’s higher education. Their decision reflects their confidence in the quality of our academic programmes and the university’s continuous growth.

“UUM’s Accounting and Law programmes are among the best in Malaysia, while disciplines such as Accounting, Finance and Banking are also recognised among the world’s leading fields based international subject rankings,” he said.

He said UUM also places strong emphasis on graduate employability through the offering of professional certificates, industry-recognised certifications and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) elements into academic programmes to enhance students’ skills and marketability.

During the question-and-answer session with parents and guardians, the Vice-Chancellor explained that students are required to reside on campus despite the implementation of hybrid learning, as this approach enables them to experience a conducive university learning environment.

Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed further said that UUM is committed to producing quality and resilient graduates who meet industry needs, while excelling not only academically but also upholding a strong sense of identity and character.
