ALOR SETAR, 20 January 2025: The atmosphere at Aman Bowl, Aman Central, was electric on Friday, 13th December 2024, as the UUM Global Buddies Club (GBC) hosted “Pins and Wins: Bowling Tournament.”
This exciting event brought together students from the mobility program for an evening filled with friendly competition, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The organising committee ensured seamless logistics, coordinating transportation from Varsity Mall, UUM, to the bowling venue and managing the assignments of lanes with precision.
The tournament featured five-member teams competing with enthusiasm and camaraderie. Adding to the dynamic atmosphere were Mr. Mohd Azri Abdul Aziz, Assistant Director, and Mr. Mohamad Sayazi Abdul Mutalib, Operation Assistant from the UUM Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), who graciously supported the event and exemplified excellent sportsmanship throughout the event.
Laughter and cheers echoed across the bowling lanes as participants took their turns, energised by the encouragement of their teammates. Between rounds, the media team infused an extra dose of fun with creative and humorous posing challenges, which added a playful twist to the competition.
The tournament concluded with Group 10 claiming first place with a score of 494, followed by Group 6 in second place with 425, and Group 7 securing third place with 381. The winners proudly received their accolades amid applause and cheers, followed by a vibrant group photo session to capture the joyful spirit of the event.
The program was a resounding success, achieving its goal of fostering unity, joy, and meaningful interactions among participants. GBC continues to stand out as a beacon of cross-cultural connection, creating events that strengthen bonds and celebrate diversity. – Nur Amelia Mazlan and Tan Yan Ying
