SINTOK, 14 January 2026 – In a continued effort to expand its global academic network Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), through the Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), held an engaging sharing session with its international partner, Gebze Technical University (GTU), Türkiye, bringing together students and staff from both institutions in a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, partnership development, and institutional engagement.
The programme commenced with comprehensive presentations by representatives from UUM and GTU, providing participants an in-depth overview of each university’s academic strengths, campus environment, and internationalisation strategies. These introductions cultivated a stronger understanding of both institutions’ missions, cultures, and shared commitment to global academic excellence.
A central focus of the session was the detailed briefing on student exchange opportunities, summer programmes, and the Erasmus+ mobility scheme for both students and staff. Participants gained valuable insights into programme frameworks, eligibility requirements, academic experiences, and the professional and intercultural benefits of participating in international mobility initiatives. The session generated strong interest and enthusiasm among attendees.
The interactive nature of the programme further enhanced engagement, encouraging participants to exchange ideas, raise questions, and share expectations about studying and teaching abroad. This constructive dialogue reflected a collective eagerness to broaden international exposure and foster cross-cultural academic collaboration.
Throughout the session, both UUM and GTU reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening global partnerships that promote student development, cultural understanding, and academic innovation. These efforts are aligned with UUM’s broader strategic objective of enhancing its global presence and international learning environment.
The sharing session concluded on a highly positive and forward-looking note, laying a solid foundation for expanded collaboration between the two universities.
