BGS UUM Chapter Shines at Dell Business Challenge

PENANG, 28 April 2025: Four members of the BGS Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Chapter have once again brought honour to UUM by emerging as champions of the Dell Business Challenge 2025, held at Dell Global Business Centre Sdn. Bhd.

Lim Qing Jun, Cheen Chee Lok, Ong Kai Neng and Nur Diana Azleen Azli, competing as the team “Future Thinkers,” impressed the judges and secured first prize. Additionally, Siti Aisyah Kamarudin was recognised as the winner for the individual category.

Their success not only reflects the high quality of education at UUM but also highlights the students’ dedication and capability. Furthermore, the BGS UUM Chapter triumphed over other prestigious universities, including Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia, INTI College, and several others, to claim the championship title.

“I am so proud of our amazing students. Huge congratulations to the four of you for winning the championship, and cheers to Siti Aisyah for bringing home the Outstanding Individual Award! I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all students who participated. Your dedication and effort are truly inspiring,” said Dr Nor Atikah Shafai, the coordinator of the BGS UUM Chapter.

She also expressed her deep pride in the BGS UUM Chapter, emphasising that the remarkable achievement has brought great honour to the name of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She encouraged all students to continue striving for excellence, as they are shining examples of the university’s spirit and capabilities.

The Dell Business Challenge 2025 featured a series of business case simulations designed to assess students’ analytical reasoning, financial acumen, and teamwork skills. The competition provided an invaluable for emerging professionals to showcase their talents and gain critical industry insights.

Beyond the competition, the programme included a networking lunch with professionals from Dell Technologies, offering students a rare opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders. During the session, participants explored topics such as career pathways, workplace culture, and recruitment processes within the company. This experience allowed students to deepen their understanding of the professional world and enhance their employability.

Overall, the Dell Business Challenge 2025 not only fostered students’ technical competencies but also helped them build meaningful industry connections that could shape their future careers.
