UUM and MIPFM Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Human Capital Development through KPTiP Strata Management Programme

SINTOK, 21 June 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM) continue to strengthen their strategic collaboration in national human capital development by celebrating the success of 48 students who completed the Ministry of Higher Education Professional and Industrial Credential Programme (KPTiP) in Strata Management. The students were celebrated at a Gala Dinner and Certificate Presentation Ceremony held at EDC – UUM last Friday.

The ceremony also witnessed the signing of the licensing agreement for the KPTiP Strata Management Programme Course Modules under UUM Intellectual Property Licensing for the KPTiP Course Module. The agreement marks a new chapter in expanding access to professional education that is aligned with industry needs.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for introducing KPTiP, an initiative that provides students with opportunities to enhance their professional competencies.

In his accordance, MIPFM as UUM’s strategic industry partner is always committed to strengthening university-industry relations and providing a learning platform that meets current industry demands. He also commanded the School of Government (SoG) for the successful organisation of such high-impact programme.

He said KPTiP is a clear manifestation of MoHE’s commitment to strengthening the agenda of producing holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates, in line with the aspirations of the National Higher Education Plan.

“Initiatives such as this are also aligned with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI which emphasise the development of knowledgeable and ethical human capital capable of contributing meaningfully to society and the nation.

“I believe the KPTiP has provided added value that distinguishes graduates who merely possess academic qualifications from those who are truly prepared to meet the needs of the industry. Therefore, professional certification is no longer an optional advantage, but a necessity in today’s competitive job market,” he said in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad.

He said the programme had successfully attracted students from various schools and academic backgrounds, proving that strata management is not only relevant to a specific discipline, but also offers added value and career opportunities across various fields of study.

“May the professional certification obtained serve as a catalyst for greater success in the future and contribute towards producing competent and competitive graduates who are capable of contributing to national development,” he said.

Meanwhile, MIPFM President, PMgr Sr. Ishak Ismail said, the programme proved that close collaboration between higher education institutions and professional bodies could produce graduates who are better prepared to meet industry needs.

According to him, in an increasingly competitive employment landscape, employers are not only seeking for graduates with academic excellence, but also those with professional competencies and exposure to the realities of the industry.

He said, the KPTiP Professional and Industrial Credential Programme in Strata Management had successfully bridged these two elements.

“The professional certification received by the participants provides a competitive advantage that can enhance graduate employability and open up more career opportunities in the strata property, management and facility sectors.

“MIPFM believes that developing professional competencies at the university level will have a significant impact on the future of graduates,” he said.

He also reaffirmed MIPFM’s commitment to further expanding collaboration with higher education institutions nationwide by providing more opportunities for professional certification, industrial training and career development for students.

Also present were Dean of SOG, Prof. Dr Halimah Abdul Manaf, as well as senior officers from UUM and MIPFM.
