SINTOK, 23 April 2025: ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) has commenced a reassessment of Universiti Utara Malaysia’s (UUM) Bachelor of International Affairs Management with Honours programme.
The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, warmly welcomed the AUN-QA assessors during the official opening session.
Now in its third assessment cycle, the AUN-QA assessors will conduct the reassessment of the core programmes under the School of International Studies (SOIS).
“This programme is designed to produce graduates with strong analytical skills, practical competencies and a comprehensive understanding of international affairs,” he said.
He described the reassessment exercise as a valuable platform for dialogue – an opportunity to exchange ideas, review progress, and jointly enhance the quality of academic offerings.
He also expressed his hope that the entire assessment process from the interview sessions to the site visits would proceed seamlessly and efficiently.
In an effort to support the reassessment, the SOIS Academic Committee has undertaken a range of initiatives, including the preparation of comprehensive Self-Assessment Report and other relevant supporting documents. These efforts reflect UUM’s strong commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with the quality standards set by AUN-QA.
The Quality and Accreditation Management Centre (PPQA), serving as the Secretariat for this reassessment exercise, has meticulously coordinated all preparatory activities to ensure a systematic and efficient evaluation process.
